ISO124: Alternatives to Tantalum bypass caps

$

The ISO124 datasheet recommends the use of Tantalum bypass capacitors on the power supply pins. Is there a reason why Tantalums were recommended?

Just wondering if there is any reason why Ceramics could not be used as long as the capacitance was increased to compensate for temp, voltage and long life deratings.

The application requires very low bandwidth.

Field falure of TLV7256

Our service department reports many products returned with 1 or 2 sections of the TLV7256 comparator  not  working.

In our circuit the TLV7256 inputs are often at the same voltage. for a long time.  Could this possibly cause the

output to draw excessive current ?

When 9-pin(E/S) are made Low⇒High and OPA549 output is done in Disable⇒Enable, the negative voltage whisker is output.
※Waveform is attached below

Please let me know about below.

・When OPA549 is Disable, is the internal circuit down which -15V is flowing here?

⇒When there is information of internal circuit, please give me.

・Is there a measure?

【Additional information】

・Supply voltage:±15V

・When -VS is changed to GND from -15V, it becomes good. (No whisker)

・Control of E/S is High/Low signal of MCU into buffer IC.

   ⇒The amplitude of whisker is depend on off/on timing.   (Max:0.6uS width/ -5V.)

・Even if a loop of OPAMP is cut off, it occurs.

・The customer request, the negative output is bad.

~Customer Information is below~

  • What is end Application

     ⇒Portable healthcare

  • What is subsystem part is used on?

            ⇒±15V current output AMP

Abnormal gain in op inverter configuration.

Hello I´m trying to acondicionate small signal to mi ADC with a simple stage of two op amp TLV2264 with hight pass filter this is mi schematic:

IMG_6185.jpg

As I think I make the calculation of the condenser to have an hight pass filter with cut frecuenci on 159 Hz with 6dB/oct not 12. But the gain until 400 or 500 hz are smaller than the teorical gain.
I was testing op amps TLV2264 on a single supply (see schematics)

With the right imput and no saturating, The circuit give me an output with gain of 10 each stage, a total of 100= 40dB. That is right but is only in frecuencies biger than 400hz (and lower than 300KHz it is enaff ), when you start to go down with the frecuency generator under 400 Hz the gain start to go down. Acording to mi calculations the gain must be linear on 10x by stage until 159Hz (when the hight pass filter starts to work).
Y had changed the condenser C1 of a midle value (50nf is 75hz teorical hight cut frecuency) but the unilineality of the gain are exactly the same. Under 400 Hz the gain starts to go down, it must start to ocurre under 159 not 400 Hz.

Could somebody tell me the reason of this unilineality??

Many thanks Aren

Is capacitor integrator the only way to measure femtoamp current?

$

it is not difficult to integrate femtoamp current to a measurable voltage by using a small capacitor integrator, however, when it comes to differentiate charge to current, problems appear since the differentiation can significantly magnify noise. here is my question:  is the capacitor integrator the only way to measure femtoamp current, if yes, is there any good ways to differentiate the numerical data? if no, could you please give me some hints on how to measuring fA current without using capacitor integrator?

Thanks

INA126 with single power supply problems

I am using an INA126PA to monitor the voltage difference between two photodiodes. The one photodiode is used as a light reference. I hooked up two INA126PA instrumentation amplifiers in the way indicated in the data sheet (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ina126.pdf)

V+ = 2.85V, V- = Vref = 0V. Rg = 20kohm to start such that G = 9. Vin+ and Vin- are expected to receive a signal between 0V and 0.55V depending on lighting conditions. I was expecting that when Vin+ = Vin- that the output signal Vo would equal 0. However, no matter what I put as an input signal in Vin+ and Vin- the output is always 2.11V. This is the case even if I tie Vin+ to Vin- to Vref.

For example, if Vin+ = 0.09V and Vin- = 0.06V the output should be be 0.27V, however, Vo is still 2.11V.

Do I require two power supplies to run this chip correctly?

LMP91000 reference-worker clamp fet (internal or external?)

The eval kit for the LMP91000 features a fet to clamp reference and worker when power to circuit is OFF.  Why is this implemented external to the LMP91000 when the chip has an integral fet clamp?  Should I employ an external fet clamp in my design or use the integral clamp?  I'm using the LMP91000 to amplify current from Alphasense H2SD4 toxic gas sensor.

Application is toxic gas sensing instrument used in Oil & Gas.

OPA340 Negative output on negative input with single supply

Hi guys! we're working on OPA340 for an rectifier. We config it as a superdiode with single supply, but when we apply a negative voltage to the positive input, the output reflects the negative inout voltage (up to 10mV). We're surprised with this behaviour. Am I missing somethig?

I enclose a simple Tina simulation with this.

What is the default output data rate of INA219 current sensor?

Hi all,

I am currently using INA219 high side DC current breakout board and would like to know how many current values can be returned in 1 second from INA219 sensor. That is how many samples that INA219 can be taken in each second?

According to the datasheet (page 15,under Power management), the configuration by default is 12 bit but I am wondering whether it is 128 samples (per second) by default.

Could anyone help me to answer my question? Thank you in advance.

Problems Using LM2902 in Precision Rectifier

Hello,

I'm using the circuit found in this application note to generate a DC voltage from an AC current transformer.  I have the circuit connected on the bench using an LM2902 and a CT with 3100 turns.  The CT is connected to a burden resistor of 118ohms.  When I change the CT primary current, the voltage across the burden resistor changes but the output of the circuit is fixed at ~3V.  Is there a problem with the circuit in this app note or my selection of the LM2902?  Here is the circuit I'm using with all component values:

A question about LMC6001 amplifier, do feedback resistors affect each other?

$

I have to use several feedback resistors so that I can choose the sensitivity range. I have two circuit A and B. I prefer to use A since it uses less relays and relays are expensive. my question is:  will other feedback resistors affect the feedback resistor which is working in A. for example, if relay for 200G is closed, will capacitors and resistors in A affect the performance of the 200G resistor?

Thanks

Hi,

I'm using AMC1100 IC for Low side AC current sensing. Please find the attached schematic. Between the Pin 2 and 3 there is sense resistor of 500mohm.As soon as switch ON the power, the AMC1100 IC damaged. Later we added 12ohm series resistor to pin 2 and 3, then also 12ohm resistor burnt off. Please suggest us how to power up the IC.

OPA2322S input pin behavior if shutdown

HI, folks

I would like to know whether the input pins (INP/INN) remain Hi-Z input even if shutdown by xSHDN=L or not.

We will use multiple OPA2322S in parallel which inputs are wired ORs. If some path is exist in shutdwon it will be a problem.

pls see following circuit , and customer is using OPA356 as tracking circuit, and when customer input voltage is between 2.45V-3V, the one situation  is output just keep 2.5V, not change with input voltage, and another output always is 3V, not change as well, pls check whether this circuit is correct?

The INA118 datasheet doesn't appear to have the chips pins dimensions on it, only the tape and reel information. How can I find the dimensions of the chips pins (for the SOIC) from this?
