Power consumption of Microcontroller

Hello Group,

   I am looking for an single chip solution of an IC that can measure the current consumed by a microcontroller. The microcontroller can be powered at 1.8V, 3.3V and 5V. The range of current consumed would be 1uA to 100mA.

I thought of using INA139 as it simply converts the current to voltage, but this chip does not support 1.8V supply voltage. Is there any other chip that can meet my requirements?

AMC1200 uses for current detect of low side

I would like to confirm the use of AMC1200 for the current detect.

Can AMC1200 use the current detect for low side?

I don't know whether it can use for low side or not, because VINN need to connect GND.

If AMC1200 can use, could you please show the recommended circuit?

For example, I attached it. Please ignore the capacitance value and zenner diode.

Problem using LMP7721 Evaluation board in Transimpedance configuration.

I have two LMP7721 evaluation boards which I have modified to the Transimpedance configuration as shown in the figure 4 of the  "LMP7721 Multi-Function Evaluation Board Users' Guide" [http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/snou004/snou004.pdf]. This is to be used with a photodiodes in photovoltaic mode.

The only difference is that I use either a 10 M or a 1M feedback resistors instead of 100M. I use +/- 2.5 volt power supplies and the positive input is grounded (Vbias = 0).  My problem is that both boards have a fixed output of -1.36 volts regardless of input current or gain!

I have grounded the input without any change to the output. I also cleaned the board according to the video posted on the TI web page. 

With 1 M Ohm feedback resistor when the input is grounded (i.e., VIN- ~ 0.000)  VIN+ = 0.000 the output reads -1.359 and Vguard = -1.915 Volts. 

I have also connected a photodiode with output current of 0.43 nA and tried both polarities. The output remains constant.

I have the modifications checked by another engineer to make sure that the TIA configuration is that of figure 4.

 

Am I missing something? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

TLE2022AM Open loop impedance

Hi,

What is the open loop output impedance of TLE2022AM?

To reduce component count I wanted to replace TLE2062AM with TLE2022AM in my design.

I have checked the Offset voltage, Offset current and Bandwidth differences and it is found ok.

Is there any parameter which makes distinction between TLE2062AM with TLE2022AM?

This component is used in a bi-directional current source.

PGA309 - Arduino + Communicaton over bluetooth with Android phone

Hello,

I'm in the process of creating application that will sense the tension changes on the piece of metal using tensometers (strain gauge?). I have created out of them a bridge. I've managed to make Funduino Mega 2560 r3 communicate with the PGA309 over 2-wire interface. I've been able to write to and read from PGA309 registers. I have used the provided here www.ti.com/.../slvc073 calculator to calculate needed values.

The problem I'm facing now is that I'd like to implement calculator like that in my android Application. I've read the manual many times and I cannot understand how to make all the needed calculations or I just simply cannot find them. I've been able to just use the calculator and write the data to the first part of EEPROM with correct checksum1 but it's not what I need. I want to make the needed calculations on phone, calibrate the pga309 there. Later the calibrated data need to be written to the EEPROM. The first part isn't a problem but I don't understand how to create the 2nd part (temperature look up table according to DAC settings). Again the calculations for that are not clear.

I'd really appreciate any help I can get. Algorithms, equations or anything useful is highly welcome. If you have any further questions about my project then please ask.

Photodiode Measurement / Current Sensor IC

Hey guys,

i'm new in this community, so please be patient with me :)

I want to measure the output current of a photodiode.

Now i'm looking for a current sensor IC, which is capable for the output of some nanoamps.

The photodiode has a µm surface and is amplified over a difference amp. The output is mirrored by the factor 12.

I don't know the exact current range yet. This is why I'm looking for an Inputcurrent of 1-100nA.

AMC1100 in DC voltage

Halo everyone,

I already tried AMC1100 on AC sensing, and it give good sine wave.

Now, I am curious whether I can use AMC1100 in DC voltage sensing,

if can, do I have to scale the sensing range to 125mV. 

Since AC sensing range is 250mV.

And I have other question in mind.

The function of R1 and R2 is to supply 2.5V to VNN? Is this really needed?

And can I know the function of C3, if I want to sense DC voltage, do I still need the C3?

Team,

MSFT is seeing the error LED light up unexpectedly under the following conditions:

 

VSN = +15V

VSP = -15V

-2.5V < VSON < -1.4V -> LED ON, -1.4V < VSON < 0 -> LED OFF

VSOP = 2.5V

DVDD = 2.5V

VOCM = GND

 

Looking through the datasheet, I don’t see any specs that are being violated. Any thoughts as to what might be causing it? Thanks.

I am redesign a circuit with a unity gain buffer that I have had difficulty with due to the dual supply op amp requires the +/- rail voltage to come up equally (the dc-dc converter that powers this circuit the negative voltage comes up 4-6mS later than the positive voltage; its locked into the design). I have used the OPA237 single or dual power op amp before, the question is would this delay in the start up of the negative voltage adversely affect, stress or otherwise be ultimately detrimental to the OPA237? I'm assuming that this can be used as a single supply,  the powering up is not as critical and this delay would not hurt me.... wrong?

XTR111 will be tested for Current/Voltage output, referring to Fig.48 in DS. Can you please suggest a feasible overvoltage protection for pin 7 (SET). In fault condition or miswiring, end customer can apply a voltage >14V to pin 7 that could be destructive.

Signal Chain for Capacitive Voltage Sensor

Hi,

I am trying to use a patch on PCB to detect electric field created by 110V power line. I then want to add a reference voltage of 1.65V to the output signal of the capacitive patch. I am trying to do this using the following schematic. Vpp is the signal from the voltage patch, 5V/3 is the reference voltage I want to add.

For some reason, the output of the op-amp goes to zero when I connect R21 to Pin 12 of the op-amp. Can anyone suggest what I am missing here,

PGA450 EVM: verification error on DEVRAM load

First attempt with PGA450 EVM using GUI 1.38.33 (found release on TI support wiki). I attempt to load the .HEX file from the EVM's CD into DEVRAM. Each attempt fails with verification error. The verification error appears to be every location. The "failed" value for a given location varies with each attempt. Have tried the software from two different computers, no change.

Any suggestions on what to check, try, kick, etc?

Request about OPA551 oscillation measures

I have a question about OPA551 from a customer.

*The use situation, problem  

 The circuit of customer oscillates it by +-10V, the 200mA output.  Customer understood that the output oscillates for capacitive load.    Please refer to an attached diagram for the use circuit.

*Question contents  

 In Figure10 of datasheet, there is an oscillation restraint method of gain=1 of the negative feedback.  Customer is curious about oscillation measures method of voltage follower.  Would you please teach me the measures method in case of voltage follower?
