TL441: Perform an impedance measurement

Part Number:TL441

Hi,

i need to perform an impedance measurement and i think about using the TL441-EP. I used the configuration suggested in the application information in data-sheet, but what are A2 and B2 and why i need to input the signals both in A1 and in A2 and in B1 and B2 being the two in A2 and B2 amplified by the two op-amp? How much is the gain i have to set for the op amp in A2 and B2?

Thanks for the reply

Stefano

LMH6518: Single-ended DC-coupled output

Part Number:LMH6518

Hello,

I'm interested in using the LMH6518 in an application that requires a 50 ohm single-ended, DC-coupled output with about 500 MHz bandwidth.  I'm looking for recommendations on how to implement this for this amplifier, or any other FDA for that matter.

Since the output must be DC-coupled, I can't use a balun.  Is the right approach to follow the LMH6518 with another high-speed op amp configured as a differential amplifier? If so, any suggestions on an op amp part number?  Or, even better, is there a fully integrated component that I could use that would have better CMRR?

Thanks for your help.

OPA2140: Thermal management or how do I estimate junction temperature?

$

Part Number:OPA2140

I am using OPA2140 (SOIC) in my design. In one of the positions it supplies a fairly high current (up to 9mArms) and power supplies are +/-15V i.e. 30V rail to rail. I calculated the power on the IC as ~200mW in my circuit.

Problem is I do not know how to use the thermal information on the data sheet, reproduced below, to estimate the junction temperature, even after reading the application report mentioned there.

So... How may I estimate the junction temperature for a 55°C ambient temperature? I guess it also depends on the layout, so what is the recommended layout, how much copper etc. to achieve a safe junction temperature. By the way, what would be a safe worst case Tj?

Thanks in advance.

Part Number:INA116

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi,

As talked about before there is no TINA model for the INA116. Previous suggestions have been to use the OPA129 in a 3 opamp instrumentation amplifier setup.

Do you guys have any suggestions on modeling the noise of the INA116? Would using the OPA129 still be valid?

Thanks

Derek

LMH2832EVM-50: The eval board does not have max gain as advertised.

Part Number:LMH2832EVM-50

Hi,

I evaluated LMH2832-50 EVM with input signal of -44dBm at 45MHz. With GUI, I set the gain of 30dB but found output power of only -22dBm, only 22dB gain rather than 30dB. It looks like gain control is good from 30dB to -9dB but absolute gain is not there. Is this inherent to EVM that loose 8dB but will have 30dB gain with differential interface? Or something else goes on?

Also, about bias control at GUI, it does not change gain or linearity by changing the bias. Can you let me know what exactly the bias control helps?

Thanks,

Part Number:ISO124

I have 8 iso124's on a board based on app note figure 23. I currently don't have any inductor/filters on the board. I have a tiny bit of noise 20mv or so.

If I add the appnote filter circuit can I add one for each supply or do I need to add 1 for each iso124> They are in close proximately on the board.

Can you suggest Isolation Amplifier for measuring DC currents from 0mA to 2A?

Dear Sir/Madam,

Does TI have solation Amplifier for measuring DC currents from 0mA to 2A?

I looked at AMC1200 but it is for AC currents.

Best regards,

Hi to all!.

I need to measure a variable voltage (0V -> 600V  range) with AMC1200.

I use a fully isolated dc/dc converter for build a 5Vdc for Vdd1-Gnd1.

For correct measurament i need to connect Gnd1 to return of high voltage, or can I leave it unplugged? (sse image)

Best regard, luca

Part Number:XTR112

Hello
I have a problem with XTR112, my circuit is according to datasheet XTR112 / FIGURE 1. RTD(PT1000) Input, Current Excitation, input resistant is adjusted in range 700Ω - 1200Ω.
When the input resistant is constant the output current is changing with the load resistance :(R2+R3).

Thanks for help

Hi,thank you for reading my post.

This is my question:

Recently I use AMC1200Q1 to sample AC voltage(Vrms=220V),but as the picture  you can see the sensed voltage has a ripple in the peak area(scope: real voltage and sensed voltage).

PGA204: Possibility of use in new designs and newer analogs

Part Number:PGA204

Hi everyone!

We are doing reverse engineering of some old scientific device and in the device used bunch of PGA204. We have some doubts about similar ICs in Texas Instruments portfolio. So I have several  questions and I hope for your help:

  1. Is PGA204 may be used in new designs (because it has a long story)?
  2. Are there any replacements IC or AFE for PGA204?
  3. Are there similar ICs in INA product line?

Short brief of the reversed device - amplifier for millivolts/microvolts from low impedance source (coil). In fact - good voltmeter.

OPA2333: OPA2333

Part Number:OPA2333

Hi team,

my customer has a question when using OPA2333. We have an exposed  pad in the middle of the device and as the datasheet says, it's for "thermal and electrical characteristics". And we need to connect the pad to VS- as well as the thermal pad in PCB. I can understand that the it will improve thermal dissipation, but how to understand that this will benefit for electrial and mechanical and improve reliability? Can you explain in more details?

    Thanks !

XTR105: Doesn't work

Part Number:XTR105

XTR105 doesn't work.

XTR105 has to deliver out 4-20 mA for a PT1000 at  temperatur range 50C-650C. I used a decade resistance boc instead of PT1000.

1) The applied circuit is that diagram, that is recommended by the Data sheet;Texas Instruments.

2) Vin of the unit has been checked and is Vin=0-2V as datasheet promised.

3) The circuit has been test by a RL= 0, 100, 200 Ohms.

4) XTR105 startes with 4 mA at Rz=1.194k Ohm, but it goes to a satuartion state at Vin about 1.3V.

5) Because of saturation the output curren=Io will never reach 20mA at RTD at 650C, R2=3.296k.

Maybe I did something wrong, but I share you the calclusion I have done. Please com with som comments and suggestion.

LMP2011: Resistance Temperature Detector interface app. Note SNOA838 circuit clarification

Part Number:LMP2011

Hello,

I want to implement the circuit shown in the attached application note (wonderfully explained, by the way), to measure a 4 wire RTD.

I have two questions:

1.- Is C1 capacitor value of 1F correct? It seems too big, and LMP2011 datasheet informs that no external capacitor are required.

2.- Amplifier A3 (LMP2011) has the pin 3 labeled in the negative input, while in the other three amplifiers, the pin 3 is the positive. Are the signs wrong? Should lead W3 be connected to pin 4, negative input of A3?

Thank you very much for your attention,

Álvaro

LPV821: noob question about op-amps

$

Part Number:LPV821

Dear,

I have no previous experience with op-amps.

I have used the TI selection tool but, to be honest, the number of parameters is overwhelming :)

During my preliminar searches, seems LPV821 could be a candidate for a project involving a msp430 and a sensor which outputs up to 60 mV.

Unfortunately, I would like to perform first tests in my breadboard so I would need a DIP package to begin with.

Afterwards, I can design my board in EAGLE with any candidate but would like to start like this.

So, my question is simple. Can you give me your recommendation for some TI product similar to LPV821 (low current consumption and low uV / ºC) but presenting a DIP package?

Let's see what you can come up with and thanks for your patience :)

Have a really nice day!
